Our vet gave us Normosol-R for Chipper's fluid administration but I am reasonably sure we used lactated Ringer's for our late cat Snickers. Lactated ringer's solution is an isotonic crystalloid fluid, which won't allow fluids to enter or exit your cat's red blood cells.
